Lee Palamidis 05/26/1958 to 08/11/2007
Lee Palamidis joined the Bloomingdale Fire Protection District in March of 1981, serving as a dispatcher and a paid-on-call firefighter. During his time as a dispatcher, Lee was known to many as “the voice of Bloomingdale.” Prior to being hired full-time with the District in 1998, Lee served as a paramedic with the Schiller Park Fire Department. Lee represented the District on the PBPI committee for the Northwest Community Hospital EMS System and served as the DuPage County representative for the Local #3272. For many years Lee organized the MDA boot drive for the firefighters, taking extreme pride in trying to surpass the donations raised from year to year. Lee Palamidis was known for his kindness and generosity towards others. His passion was to visit all of the major league baseball stadiums around the country. Lee was an avid collector of fire department patches and memorabilia, having over 300 patches from various fire departments from all around the world. Lee also spent much of his free time riding along with the Chicago Fire Department, earning the nickname “Battalion 22.” The travel agent in Lee organized many trips to St. Louis and Milwaukee for the firefighters to attend sporting events. Lee was the devoted son of Mary and the late Peter Palamidis; loving brother of Elaine Palamidis and Denise (Robert) Napierkowski; dear uncle of Erica, Cristina, Anthony, Karin, Nicole, Jennifer, and Vincent; and great-uncle of Kortney, Christopher, and Christina. We have lost a great friend, and he will be deeply missed.
